Bosch Diesel Injection Pump

Hi All,

The Bosch pump on my 1769cc N/A diesel has decided to eject fuel from the main shaft front seal.

Removed the pump, but it is not obvious if the seal can be replaced without dimantling the pump.

Anyone replaced these seals, if so are they readily available as a separate item.

Not done it on a Bosch, but have on a lucas.

Hi Ken,
Yes, I too have on a Lucas, but that was obvious the seal came out externally, in fact did it twice, first time was a quick job in the very cold weather, did not last long..

Second time, cleaned the rust from the shaft, that lasted till a bearing started to break up...
