Well there are certainly bits there I could use. I don't know how this could work, but I will put a bid on to start the ball rolling...

I want the headrests certainly!

Reserve? Well, that's the issue....

It's more than £155, that's all I know...

I am tempted to say if anyone wants to join in, PM me with your offer of contribution and we'll see if we can't test the reserve further...

I'll have a think.

Well, let's think about it. If we as a group bought it how do we work out the value of items in the lot? It gets very complicated, but not beyond our wits once a complete inventory is put together. We give everything a points value from 1-5 and this total 'value' is used to calculate 'share'.

How do we work out the share? Well, say five contributors each had a maximum budget: A, B, C all would go up to £75 and D, E had a limit of £37.50, giving a maximum budget of £300 for the auction. So, say the bidding ended at £200. The proportions of contribution mean A, B, C each need to cough up £50 and D, E both £25.

Say the total value of the lot - in our 'points' value is 1,000. That means A, B and C can 'spend' 250 points and D and E have 125 points to play with.

So far no problem.

But what happens when two or more want the same thing and no-one wants another thing. First, it has to be done on a turn-by-turn basis on any 'disputed' items starting with the first who offered to contribute. Second we use the Forum - and later eBay - to dispose of anything else, splitting the proceeds as per the share established earlier on.

Just a thought

BTW I would not expect the reserve to be as high as £500 either Tim.

I've had a closer look at the pics. I've edited my 'calculation' above as in reality I believe that lot's 'worth' not more than £200...

Could be worth looking at, chaps.

Auction looks like ending under reserve price. Have emailed the seller to see if he'll entertain enquiries for specific items. Watch this space...
