But if he is taking it to the scrappy anyway, offer what the scrappy would pay :( , she is a rare one as you have already mentioned.

I'm only saying might (and very might at that!), but I might be interested.

If the car is still available, please could someone let me know:

i) What toys the TGS has - I've got the ex-Sleepy TZS, which is nice & luxurious, but I'm a little concerned about the auto box with towing (although I only plan to tow 700 kgs or so, and infrequently at best).

ii) If the 1.6 would have enough grunt to tow approx 700 kgs with reasonable performance.

I love the TZS, but my other half is not hugely keen on the black & red interior - I've got a mostly-complete interior from Bandit, but I'm not sure about taking out a nice smart interior & putting one in which isn't in as good nick...

Anyway, back on topic, I'd love an estate, but please could someone let me know on the above.

Thanks, as always, for the expertise!!

I've heard autos are better tow cars, I have a hatch version 16TGS, i have only drove it home (about 40miles), i was surprised & very impressed by it, they go very well indeed.

1.6 Petrol are smooth quiet and quite nippy, have more BHP than a Turbo/ Diesel car, I owuld definatly own one, and towing 700kgs is no trouble.

16 injections (as in the late TXi) had 89 bhp and 98 lbs/ft torque, 16's generally (eg TGS) 92/101 and a turbo diesel had 90 bhp and a (relatively) whopping 134 lbs/ft torque. But an n/a diesel 'only' has 71/90. But I get your point. This is a tempting car for someone who wants to discover estate ownership...

I think I'd better not, after all - it's a long way from me, and I've already got a BX which seems to be in good nick.

Hope it finds a good (or any!) home...

Hi all,

Yes, that's what I do when I need to move a car.

Got a friendly garage 6 miles away-owner lives in the same village as me-ring him up, book in MOT and move the car to my place. He knows he's gonna get the work, so he goes along with it.
