Which Haynes Manual
Hi, I will be needing a w/shop manual to learn about my new BX, and I think I read somewhere on the forum that one haynes manual is better than another!! possibly the one with a blue cover, was I just imagining this or did I read it. My car is a !985 1600 trs. Cheers Gerry
Get this lot on your computer as it's worth more than any Haynes manual.

The Haynes is usually available online so you can diownload and just print off what you want when you want it and throw it away when it gets greasy and print out the pages as you need them.

By the time you're old enough to know it all, you can't remember why you were learning.
More Citroen BX documents here

- and they are in English. The top one is Haynes (latest and not so good Blue edition) but may have a chapter missing.
With a TRS you won't need the separate diesel engine book.

you can pick them up off ebay (often as a set of three) for pretty much the cost of postage, nice to have a hard copy to refer to! Also nice to have the digital version so you can print the relevant section then trash it while doing the job!!
I have the missing chapter of the blue haynes digitised.
If your a novice to cars then the Blue book makes some things a little clearer and gives some useful check lists, the dark grey covered haynes goes into more detail ont hings like engines and gear boxes and hopefully isn't something you'll need just yet!

Much of the official Citroen documentation is now online and there is a very useful glovebox sized manual by Peter Russek which is quite expensive and the pages fall out. Anything that has ever gone wrong with a BX will have happened to one of us and we are always here to help. Try the local charity shops, boot sales or the 'bay for a manual. They're cheap enough.

No, no, it's about HAVING them, physically, in the house, in tangible form, not about having access to them, or being able to find them online.jeremy wrote:Oscar - you can download them from Citroen Y site - looks like CX, DS and 2CV (old?) available as well as XM.
REAL anorak-hood. Possessing and reading things for the sake of it...
