Preview in white, had white GT/DTR trims. St Tropez had white TG* trims.
Changing a gearbox on a TU is easy. It'll be the planet wheels in the diff that have gone; soft as shite they are!
Shame it looks a bit, well you know.....white with white trims and all that. You want a Manly car, Manly and black, like a washbag! Black paintwork, black steelies with missing hub caps and loadsa dust and a worn steering wheel!!

OK so silly question time.
I know some people will say BX's must have power steering, others say you dont need it. My own view is that less complexity means more relaibility BUT thats my quaetion on this one. My wife wants a cheaper to run car and i think a BX 14 would be ideal. How are they to drive for someone with a little arthritis ?
Im looking for fact based stuff here not subjective (im sure you guys would take that into account though)

OK, the 14 steering is light for a non-power assisted car BUT its still not as light as a power assisted BX. At parking speeds somebody with even mild arthritis would be better with power steering in my opinion.
If you want a simple BX then the 19D is probably a better bet. Does power steering really add that many problems? In 100k of BX ownership i've never had a steering related problem (watch me have problems now i've said that!)
My missus drives an auto because her knee gives her problems occasionally. She went from a brand new Suzuki (which had the lightest clutch known to man) to the auto.

As Ian says, the PAS cars do have lighter steering. The 14's don't have heavy steering as such, but I'd agree and say if its for a woman with a little arthritis I'd play the safe option.
Only thing I can't agree on is the PAS being reliable. I've had more than one BX with PAS and have it play up. My 16v currently has no PAs whatsoever.......now that is heavy!!
Mind you I can punch holes in concrete after driving it

Thanks for your thoughts folks. all points noted and will be acted upon.
As for punching concrete, kitch didnt say how thick it was, concrete is quite brittle if thin.
