More torquey than a 16v? Erm, yeah. Alright then, why not? My Xantia diesel is faster than a BMW M5.

Overall though, looks pretty straight. Another deluded type who thinks the value of the car is to be reflected in the outlay of the sound system, but hey.

Totally agree Kitch.....but at least the ad is well-written, and lists all the points, good and bad. Much better than some ads seen recently on t'Bay!

Yeah thats a fair point mate, can't knock the guy for effort. Good pics too, although someone ought to tell him he's got front headrests in the back seat

To be fair, they probably feel more torquey than a 16V, having just 4 IB/ft less and it being much lower down the rev range.

I haven't driven a BX GTi, so couldn't comment. I've driven a 205 GTi 1.9 before, and that didn't feel much more lively than a valver at the lower end, even with it's weight advantage. Felt pretty much the same, except it didn't have a top end.

I personally just think he's clutching at positives to sell the car. Even if they're not strictly true....anyone who knows their salt knows that 8v's being more torquey in general is just pub talk.

Depends how you set a valver up and the mapping, if you go for out and out grunt at the top end, then bottom end torque will suffer badly.

But a standard valver, or even a mildly tuned valver has more torque than a 8v all day long.

Mine pulls like a train from 1500rpm and continues to pull right up to the red line, the power comes in at 4500rpm, I've had a few 8v GTi's, and one had a tweaked fully rebuilt engine, and yeah, it pulled well, but as well as a valver? NO!

Either way, looks like a nice enough car, and low mileage for those that get all anal about mileage, but the wheel trims....jeez they are ugly. Wheres the speedlines????
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...
