Mk 1. 14E with photos (not ebay)

This one belongs to a guy that lives round the corner from me. Now that I have a decent camera phone I thought I'd get some photos because I quite like it. He's been doing extensive bodywork recently.

That's a nice Mk 1, isn't it? I particularly like the front fogs - good and big.

Yes, great. Also the buildings in the background - take more than a stiff breeze to knock them over. Aren't those the wheel trims that you're looking for? Maybe if they 'fell off' in the night and 'fell on' to yours and he would never notice especially as he lives round the corner. What am I saying? BX crime! I should go down for a long stretch just for the thought..

I think it may have been slightly darker blue when new, & the bonnet looks a slightly bleached colour, but apart from that i wouldnt say no

The trims aren't original to the 14E. Tell him the car isn't right with them on

Both my MK1's had those on... don't they make an irritating rattling noise when you're going along ...?

If they're not standard to the 14E I must harass him until I know where he got them from!!
