If you want to take it Tim, go for it. Its difficult for me logicistically and I need a car that I can sell on (for a profit).
In fact truth be told I keep pondering over diving out of BX ownership totally, so it probably wouldn't be a good idea me having it. If you like the sound of it then go for it. I could still do something with it if not but if it'd make you happy then step up.

Er, so do you still want it Kitch? I'm getting confused!

It does run, just a bugger to start (lack of compression, blow by past the valves), but it seemed better when hot... That was a while ago mind, apart from some corrosion on the bottom of the doors this car looks to be in very condition for a Mk1.

I coiuld take it on, but I've got a building now full to bursting with projects, so, er, anyone??

I did want it, but I heard nothing for ages so I wasn't sure what was going on. Then I read on here its still up for grabs, so I guessed I wasn't having it.

I still would, although is this rust on the outside of the doors or the inside?

I've kept out of this thread so far...

I'm desperate for a Mk 1 but I really need something I can drive away. If Kitch is pulling out, colour me interested - IF we can think of a way to get the car fixed in Bristol so that I can drive it back to Brighton.

If someone finds a head and provides the bits, I could do the head up here, although we did have it running, and I see no reason why, once it's running, it wont make it back to anywhere really, it's just got two or three damaged valves, once it's running and warm it seems ok. Oh, it'll need a battery though..

That's a kind offer, Doc! Now then... where should I start looking for heads?

(I should mention that I'm chasing another Mk 1 at the moment too so this is all a bit hypothetical at the moment - I really don't need to end up with two!)

A BX16 head will be hard to come by, so I'm told... and as Mr Rutherford wrote a while back, ZX/Pug 205/405 1.6s are also rather thin on the ground now.

I'm getting hold of a complete engine and box for my other Meteor.

If you do the same, we could have a big BX16 workshop weekender and do both cars at once 8)

Mark.

If someone can make a nice car out of it, then please go ahead. If no one steps up, I'll take it just to stop it being scrapped, because it really needs to be spruced back up to spec!
