Lower hose for radiator

Post by Neil »

Dear BX fans,

I have a 16 RE from Dec 88. Getting quite rare now!

Recently, the radiator gave up the ghost, so I bought another through E-bay that was advertised as being for a 16 or 19. It arrived, and turned out to be around four inches wider than the old radiator.

This new radiator was made in 1993, and the 16 had ceased production about five years before that. Anyhow, I went ahead and fitted it. The top hose was fine, but the bottom hose was a real problem and had to be shortened and reconnected using a piece of plumbing pipe and loads of jubilee clips.

Obviously this is a bodge that won't last.

Does anyone know where I could find a replacement lower hose that would fit this new radiator?

Incidentally, I'm still in the market for unbroken rear number plate lamps and the plastic luggage shelf clips that screw onto the back seat!

Thanks to you all.

Best wishes from Neil
