If you like the look of it, take £400 in cash and wave £350 of it under his nose. Be prepared to settle for £400. I'm sure he'll see sense. Cash is hard to ignore.

Reference the seats.....the tweed ones were introduced on the GT. The RS and TRS had this odd really thin cloth type affaird, which rips easily to reveal the nice manky orange foam underneath.

They did start putting the tweed in the TR's and DTR's but I think it was '86 onwards.

There exactly the same seats including colour as my dads 84 B 19RD. Very nice but as Kitch says very fragile, I would get some covers on them asap.

and if waving cash under his nose doesn't work, theres always the old "balaclava and shotgun" approach
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Have you searched all the local advert possibilities?

It would be handy to know what it's advertised for elsewhere.

That BX has to be brought into the fold and rolled out for the National. Looks museum grade. Asleep since the '80s..

Just got home from viewing B999 - and wow. It was an absolute beaut. It was like being in a five-year old car. Smooth, quiet, absolutely everything on it worked.

I was actively looking for fault in the end and couldn't find much. The bumpers are a little faded, there are some tiny patches of rust around some of the drain-holes, one little ding (probably a supermarket trolley) and it didn't idle terribly well - probably a result of the fact that it's been standing for a bit, and possibly just needing the idle speed raising a bit. Also the plastic screens in the C-pillars are badly crazed.

It's advertised locally for £600. The owner realises that he probably won't get this, but figures he might as well give it a shot. With that in mind - and bearing in mind that odd things can happen on ebay - he wouldn't accept the £400 that I waved at him. Either way, I will be bidding up to that £400... and possibly a bit more if I can lay my hands on it.

An odd thing happened on the way back, which I will now post about in the tech section.

Those plastic panels always craze. Another Citroen miscalculation in the use of certain plastics.Mine have black stripes painted across them which are turning to dust. Who knows where others are available or what a suitable replacement might be?
Sounds like a great BX though.. good luck :)

Chris Salter picked up a replacement set of C pillar windows at a CCC Rally, so they are available.

Best of luck with the bidding Stu, and I think we should all keep our eyes on this. It really must be bought into the BXClub fold and driven to the National!

I couldn't agree more!

If it goes beyond my reach, I hope someone on here will have the funds to take it on; it's worth it, believe me.

Yeah but it will probably stop at some point until the end of auction.

I'm 99% certain someone bidding for this has 'bid stealer' software.

If you want it be prepared for that, or it will disappear from under your nose with 1 second left.
