Post by Barnsley BXer »

Black no doubt.Apig to keep clean, but when it is clean,WOW!!!!Having said that, there's a silver estate in Sheffield that looks great and I don't like silver cars. You are right Ian, the burgandy colour is called morello red, this is the colour of my BX.I don't particularly like this colour, although everybody else seems to think it's wonderful

I have RED if you use decent polishes then it is fine i polish mine once a month and have done for 5 years and as you can see from my avatar it is spot on infact i get compliments from people on how good she looks. But at the end of the day it is your own choice have a look at the members car section and you can see the different colours :D

Anyway has to be red it matches the wifes hair colour.

Its obvious to me what the best colour is..................................................................... Its one YOU like yourself.

I HATE cleaning cars so white is out as is black as well. But I like these colours on somebody elses BX. I still want a silver machine though.

I have a black BX and agree that it is a good colour to have but yes, it is just a real pain to keep clean - and light surface scratches show up too. The best colour for 'hiding' grime is gold, followed by a pale silver, in my experience.

Venetian Red is the BX colour. Simple

Although when I was after a 16v, I was hoping for black or grey. I think they wear silver well too.

Glad I ended up with the red though. Its the toughest to look after, but also the one that looks best with some polish 8)

I don't tend to like red on a BX - there are too many around (as with red cars in general), and so many tend to be badly faded with pink bumpers... However a friend has a late TZD in shiny bright red that he showed interest in selling a while back, and I'm quite tempted if it's still available...

White only looks good on an immaculate BX. A friend of mine once had a nice BX14 St Tropez with the white wheeltrims. There are too many doggy BX's in white.

My favourite colours are black and the dark metallics - to me, they make the BX look especially smart and more "executive", especially with body colour bumpers. White tends to look a bit low-rent in comparison, to me.

I am a fan of the very dark Meteor grey... but I would be, since I own a Meteor in this colour! There is also a nice mid-grey metallic, e.g. that 16TRS Auto that was on eBay recently, with the ZX alloys.

Red.

And so what if it fades - another excuse to polish with long loving careful strokes......

....just off to lie down for a bit....

I do like white - wouldn't of bought mine if I didn't like the colour
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bx16v/p2.jpg
But I do like red and black, had a P1 16v in black and a series 1 BX 1600 in red!
Must agree with Kitch though the metalic gunmetal/grey is very nice I have 1 sat in my drive awaiting an engine rebuild :(

Cheers
