The BX's I have are in my signature. I'm Michael and my sign in name is m_2975. I live on the South East coast of Australia, in Melbourne.

To simplify matters and save server space, I have removed the old pictures and added new pictures on the second page.
I've also tidied it up a little here and there.

Its certainly a shame that Citroen never produced anything like it again, but its understandable seeing that it cost so much to design and produce, and then it didn't sell too well because of the fuel crisis. I cant understand how people keep these beasts on the road these days. I struggle to get bits for my CX, and I always need bits because practically everything on the car is 24 years old, and its massive. The SM is 30 + now, there were never that many sold, and they are complex cars. When struggling to find bits for my CX engine etc on GSF and AEP autoparts, I thought it would be interesting to see what they sell for the SM. There was only one category listed; ignition, and the only part listed was a spark plug

Im sure if you know where to look then they aren't too bad, but as an everyday car, I think you'd need to be in the business of repairing and breaking SM's.. I may be wrong? Id love one, but would only ever buy one if money were no object or I could just use it as a second car and accept that its going to slowly deteriorate.

It is hard to find parts for these cars and this car hasn't ever needed any. It now shows 45,000 original kms (under 30,000 miles) and had a ground up restoration in 1981, when it was just 7 years old and 40,000 kms.

As you can see, it's only done 5,000kms since restoration and it is brand new everywhere. I put my life on the line for it!

No such thing as tinworm, no such thing as wear and certainly no such thing as an imperfection anywhere.

It comes out into the daylight only if everything is perfect (ie: NO RAIN!, not too much sun, low wind) and the road that it travells is carefully planned and checked prior to make sure that there is no risk of damaging it in any way (stones, twigs, etc). The whole family is in on this masterpiece. We all pitch on to make sure it's safe. When it's all said and done it gets a very special hand wash and dry and is put back into it's carcoon (air filled bubble that filters out moisture and dust).

Welcome to the ultimate baby of the family!

Given that the SM is my Grandfather's (a Citroën mechanic of over 40 years), there comes a time when someone must take over from his traditions. This I think, out of all the family members, is me.

This means that I have to (and certainly already want and do!) worship Citroën, worship the brand, become a loyal Citroën mechanic and last but not least, have a car that is my baby to sit alongside the SM.

This, I have chosen, which was my very first car, the best car in the world, my 1993 BX 19GTI.

Praise the BX gents!!!! It will live forever!

Well, I duno about restoring them, but I'll never get shot of either of my BX's. Mechanically they are good, bodily, both need alot of work, which I'll do as and when time allows, but I'll have them till we are banned from using motor cars, or I die.
