Raid Tan Hill BX Style....
Raid Tan Hill BX Style....
Every year in the 2cvGB magazines I read of the exploits of the club and their annual Tan Hill pub "raid".
Every year I have to sit out because I dont have a 2CV....
Well this New Year why dont the BXClub do something similar - maybe not Tan Hill (the highest pub in Britain, remember the Everest Double Glazing commercials with Ted Moult?) as they may not appreciate another car club decending on them - (though they do entertain plenty and it seems like we cold "book" some parking space if we did decide to do it), but if we can find somewhere to have a jolly out to and then a nice lunch and natter it would make a nice New Year, one we can bring the familys / partners too as well.
So does anyone have any ideas or thoughts on this?

Sounds like a plan, although I spend every new years day in Winchester with the King Alfred Running day (bus type thing), but taking a car to the pub could be a goer for a change (ya know as opposed to taking the coach to the pub like!)
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!
Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Cat and Fiddle twixt Macc and Buxton perhaps? Always thought it was credited as being the highest pub in England if that makes any odds?
Some cracking roads around there too, brilliant driving can be had and the secenery is mint.
I would like to point out though that (and I'm sure everyone else feels the same) drink driving is NOT on my agenda and I'll happily don my 'serious' head and suggest we aim for soft drinks only for the drivers.
Great idea though, I'd be up for it, and perhaps somewhere with a child's play area for those bringing kids along?

Yeah, good common sense that, I've been saying it for years.cavmad wrote:I would like to point out though that (and I'm sure everyone else feels the same) drink driving is NOT on my agenda
It's just plain silly to drink and drive, you could spill your drink!
(Yes, I was only joking)
