Claude Butler 'Competition' mountain bike, handbuilt in Britain. None of that shonky cheapo Chinese stuff here!. 26.2" frame, 21 speed, alloy rims, bar ends, water bottle holder and water bottle, mudguards and lock/key. Original handbook thing supplied with it.

Needs to be seen to appreciate the quality of the bike, no suspension (which'll break anyway) or silly gimmicks just a very well made bike that will last for years. Generally in very good order, much better than most other used bikes and it rides perfectly.

£70, collected from near Chester.

Without being anal, I doubt it's got a 26.2" frame mate....you'd need uber long legs for that

Looks about 22" with a 26" wheel. (used to be a bike mechanic/geek)

Great touring bikes these though.

Cheers Kitch, ther's a sticker on the seat frame saying 26.2 so assumed this was frame size! Any idea how I measure it by the way? Thanks.

Its the centre of the bottom bracket (basically the spindle) to the tip of the seat post tube.

I guess it could be 26, but I've never seen one that big and it doesn't look it.

Cheers Kitch, just measured it as you suggested and it came to about 21.5-22 inches. I can ride it with the seat all the way down and I'm about 6` 3" so I guess it should suit people of, err, various heights?

Oh yeah, 22in is suitable for most adults. Its not an offroad size, but a good on-road touring size. Ideal for a daily commuting bike.

You'd only want smaller if you're

A) Going offroad alot or

B) A shortarse

26.2 is the seat post diameter in mm mate.

A 22inch frame with a 380mm seat post (you can get up to 450mm) will do for anyone from about 6' to 6'8".

Looks like its about a year 2000 model. Good nick though mate

Spoke to my mate last night - he said he'll have to have a look how he is for money at the end of the week. Doubt he'll be able to go over £50 anyway, so probably best to try everywhere else first. Wish I could be more help mate, sorry!
