We've/I've decided against a diesel auto now.

The problem is that they're dangerously slow.

Am trying to talk to missus into investing money in the GTi....

I would disagree on the performance mate, the one I had went VERY well. The car you tried was a dog! Still think fixing the GTi is the way forward though! :D

Unfortunately i drove another one today.

Owned by a chap at work from new.....

It wasnt any different. Painfully slow. You've seen how i drive, i demand the power.
