My engine was fully rebuilt in 2003 using all genuine brand new citroen parts. Only the block, head and crank shaft are original. Every thing is as it should be and the engine has only now done 12k. Ive had the ecu chipped by collins in congleton and also the airflow re-mapped at the same time for a smoother power curve. I have also fitted a 1 box free flowing exhaust system (custom) but have retained the original down pipe for obvious reasons. There is also a free flow cone filter (HKS) Whoch i modified to fit. When the car was last rolling roaded (mikanics) congleton it produced 169 bhp at the fly wheel and 138 lb of torque. Now ive had the injectors done and a new fuel rail it might hit 170

Aye, about where you put it is by far the easiest place!!

The other solution would be to get a T-piece and fit it on the pipe from the bottom of the block to the remote filler neck, but that would be fiddly with the inlet manifold on, so where it is looks good to me,matchews the cam cover too!!

 Was at my local ford rs meeting on tuesday. They have planed a rolling road day for september the 16th. Around 4 saff cossies are going along with a couple of rst,s and a mk 5 rs 2000 escort. Because my rst isnt back from the garage yet im taking the bx 16v on the day to be rolling roaded with all the fords. Should be quite funny realy as a lad with a mk5 rs 2000 rekons his rs will push more brake than the bx 16v and his is only standard bar airfilter and exhaust yer right........

I miss my cossie, it was lunacy. Although I dont miss being stopped by the plod every three seconds, or eating rear tyres every other day!

I'd forgotten how lovely the exhaust note was though, maybe I'll have to out a better system on the valver after all....

Should be interesting to see what your valver is putting out.
Mines putting out 0BHP right now, it's sat in the shed awaiting attack by a Russian war plane...

Just a small update to my ongoing project.

Ordered a brand new sebring ss back box direct from austria (should take 2 weeks to be made up and arrive)

Bought a new cross box (putting one back in as the straight through is to loud for me these days)

Bought a group N bottom rubber engine mount as mines split and the originals are crap........

Possible new wheel bearing fitted ( will know later as the mechanic has got it at the moment )

Booked in for a replacement steering pinion valve for next month as mines leaking quite bad now.

Ill take some pics when parts arrive.

:D Quick Update,

power steering pinion valve now fitted, Group N bottom engine mount now fitted, Citroen momo race steering wheel (ex tim leech) now fitted.
Ive also fitted some new front flexi hoses and a second hand front caliper for its new MOT.

Ive also got a complete aircon system from a scrapped bx 16v that will be fitted early next year plus a new modified front bumper/spots and bonnet with working vents. (rs turbo ones) also to be fitted are genuine bx door mirrors colour coded red. And a standard red fuel filler cap.

Excellent stuff. Why, though, fit power-sapping and weight-increasing air con when you've been working so hard to improve power output (and consequently power:weight ratio)?

:D well to be honest im into my 8 th year of ownership now and as you all know good ones are getting rarer and rarer. I dont drive it as hard as i used to anymore and try and keep it mint and as rust free as i can ( id wrap it up in cotton wool if i could ). Ive already taken the straight through exhaust off and replaced it with a brand new oe spec and put my original 16v back box back on. Speed isnt everything and these days id prefere to relax. I found a 16v for scrap with aircon fitted and took the opportunity to rip it out as it was cheap to buy and i think its the one thing my 16v is missing to make it complete. Ive also gone and bought an orion 1.6i ghia for a daily drive as its too good to use as a runaround realy.

Yep i think thats what it is! lol. Im even thinking of ditching the 17 inch alloys in favour of some 14s ive got lurking in the shed. The stickers down the doors and other bits will be coming off at some point but im keeping the twin headlamps as i still like those and you cant buy them anymore.
