Another BX Added to the Fleet
Well tonight thanks to Tim Leech, Sue and I became the proud owners of the stunning 23,000 mile BX TXS Auto.
Poor old Elf has been experiencing a suspension problem that i've not managed to get to the bottom of and it just felt like the right time to sort something else out for her.

It would get me there no questions, its the most reliable car ive ever owned, just that at 20mpg on a good day for it to sit in a field is a bit pointless, and if I can use a Citroen I will.Way2go wrote:Is the SD1 not up to it either then?tim leech wrote: Yes and thats broke as is the Xantia, I may have to come to the CCC in a certain german car!
Now I'm really puzzled. If its pointless in taking it to a meeting of car enthusiasts , what is the point of having it? OK the accent may be on Citroen but you will have some possibly interesting conversations as a result of taking it.tim leech wrote: It would get me there no questions, its the most reliable car ive ever owned, just that at 20mpg on a good day for it to sit in a field is a bit pointless, and if I can use a Citroen I will.

MPG figures on a Petrol BX are not wonderful anyway. Although I did get 36mpg over a 400 mile journey recently. Mixed local journeys probably return about 28-30 so I wouldn't think Tims 20mpg would be a big problem just across the midlands.mountainmanUK wrote:Whilst I agree fully about cars being actually used and driven, I can well understand Tims concerns about making a fairly long trip in a car which only does 20 mpg! Fuel costs these days are a major factor in selecting a particular car for a journey!
I guess you're thinking in terms of your oil burner?
