Or simply leave the rubber block on the strut and replace the pipes. If you look at the new one you'll find that the pipes are glued on to nylon stubs in the rubber block. You could cut them off (or use fuel tube) but you'll probably have to glue or fix the new ones on as the stubs may be too short.

If the pipes are in reasonable condition - (they are probably rotten) you could splice them using a short length of old brake pipe - or a windscreen washer pipe joiner (nylon thing with nice ridges to hold the pipe on)

Looks neat Brian but what about the valve in one of the tubes? Without this you will not get the pump action to evacuate from the bottom of the strut and there is the possibility to draw other leakage return fluid in & out of the strut.

Unless you have a serious strut leaking problem - it wont mean a thing.
You can of course risc the internals of the strut is filled up during a longer ride - if you have a moderate leak.
But at least when you park, and the car slowly sinks down - the fluid is pressed out.
The risc is that you pop off one of the hoses during drive because of a sudden pressure when you pass over a pothole - if the struts leaks.

But the normal seepage/lubrication leak will never reach such an amount.
The leak off hose is not exepnsive as new part, and is available all over where Citroen parts can be purchased.
Brians method should be considered an emergency repair.
