Post by m_2975 »

A must. That's the kit that I use normally and includes everything for doing the arms.

Same here. I have just done one side of one of the fleet with this exact kit. My Supplier, AutoFrance in Auckland supplies this kit at around NZ$130..00. Which is about 35 quid at the moment. Everything is there and as the job is nice n easy (for a job on a citroen) it's not worth buggering around trying to get just the bearings.

I suspect that the postage of such a kit would bring the price from U.K. to here to around what I am paying. It would be easy too to get a Relly to buy the kit and send out just the bearings and seals.. As I have , ..now, let me think... no, going to have to go and check......... yup, as I have FIVE BX's and some are in need of rear bearings, I should perhaps source these kits and do just that. The rellies can have the bolts as a bonus for helping me out........oh yes, all heart.

SKF VKDA 23001 Rear Arm Bearing Kit for BX

Bolt/Nut/Washer.....427g
Spacer ...................275g
Bearings x2............150g
Thrust Bushes x2.....80g
Seals x2...................25g
Dust Cover...............20g
Box ........................115g

Total......................1092g

box dimensions.....330x75x105 mm

The bolt, spacer, thrust bushes and possibly the dust cover should be reusable.

GSF and others do the bearings and seals separately. These only account for 175g out of a total 1092g for the kit as a whole.

EXcellent info ellevie and thanks. Well worth leaving the heavy bits out (except the spacer tube), and, without the box?? should be quite cheap to post. Mum can use the bolts as axles IN the box to make a trolley. She IS over 80 so shouldnt have any trouble designing something to cart the shopping... Watch out for her in Penzance...
