I can use an entire tankful of fuel in one go too. Hang on, what's this? - I've only travelled 300 miles!!!!! :?

Slight exaggeration - 305 actually...

Blimey!

I'm referring to journeys of nearly double that! (in a n/a Diesel with manual gearbox of course)

I`ve been burying the right hand pedal the last couple of days with some quite good results in the traffic light grand prix.
Seen off some Volkswagen or other, they all look the same to me (does that make me a racist?!!) and one of those pointless double cab Japanese pick up thingys.
Downside? Fuel consumption in mid-late thirties

I was being over the top, but not by much - my BX's do about 350 miles before the light's been on long enough for me to think... 'Stop at the next station!'... A woeful lack of range. but getting there's fun. :D

At £4 odd per gallon, I'd have to agree with you.

I guess that's is about 17p per mile.

I had a new Yaris in 1999 that, after 12,000 miles in 16 months - when factoring in depreciation, fuel. servicing and tax - cost me 37p per mile.

Using a similar calculation for the BX, extrapolating service intervals and mileage - including servicing, repairs and so on it works out at 29p per mile.

So, let's say I've been biased and it's 34p a mile. Not too bad. Especially as I bought it cash and didn't have to pay finance, for instance.

Can someone do a calculation for a TZD estate? And a 16v - 'cos I want both!

Just been trying to work it out. Based on the fact I`ve done around 2000 miles in my current 1.9 n/a diesel estate and allowing for all the money spent (including purchase price) and also taking off the probable future value of the car as a whole I reckon about 19p per mile not including insurance, but a fairly rough figure. This also I think would have gone down slightly had I kept the car longer and the final value of it will probably be worth more than the £100 I have guestimated as I will be keeping it for a spares source for my `new` one.

Finally,

To bring this back on topic, theres been a lot of interest in this car, is anyone going to bid as I'm very very tempted, but dont wish to stand on anyone toes, so to speak.

PM me if you want to keep it hush, hush. But it does look quite good and if know one else wants it :?:

Tim, if I buy the car, how much are you willing to pay for the rubber mats  Could always drop them off on the way home.
