Hi DOC!

When i first got the car as a jap import with an apexi ecu it was pretty quick.
But what i didnt know was that in japan they have access to high octane fuel and it had been mapped for 110 octane fuel.
two weeks later after blowing away every Max Power muppet in the local area.
It did not go any more
Took it to a mate of mine who specialises in skylines

five pistons out of six detonated not bad eh! #-o

one very expensive engine rebuild later and she is as sweet as a nut.
you don't want to know how much it cost.

but beleive me you would have difficulty in bursting her now.
she is producing her 492 bhp at 1.4 bar boost. still plenty to go
the standard skyline crank will take 600 bhp.
More than that you need to go to a JUN autos crank.

There is a chap in Australia who i met in japan he has a drag skyline like mine R33 and that has just under 2000 BHP running 4 to 6 bar boost
all from 2.7 litre's he has a JUN crank and pistons and conrods and cams and block and head etc etc etc.
But he can afford it his name is Mario and he wrote the super mario games on the nintendo. 8)

Regards Kermit :)

Blimey, I'd imagine ytou're talking between £4k to £6k?

They are a special engine for sure, very well designed and very under stressed from factory, plebty of scope for the man that wants more.
Keep us updated mate, that should be a very special car when it's done.

Hi doc

With all the bit's i had done while it was out your top estimate is half way there nearly!
I had the head gas flowed ,valve guides, combustion chambers reshaped, head skimmed to bring compression ratio up to 9.2 to 1(standard 8.5 to 1). three angle valve seat's, vernier cam pulley's.
steel drag head gasket ,steel inlet and exhaust gaskets, HKS competition spark plug's,
HKS drag pistons. (ceramic coated crown)
Block rebore to 2624cc. NISMO crank main and big end bearing.s, modified sump and cam oil baffles.
NISMO oil pump (higher flow), NISMO competition water pump,
Twin RIEMAX competition roller bearing turbo's with oil flow restrictors.
HKS turbo exit pipes(lagged), HKS triple plate carbon ceramic clutch (capable of transmitting over 850BHP),and a middlehurst chipped ECU as the APEXI one had been locked in Japan and i can't find out the unlock code
As i have allready said it has a 4" diameter stainless exhaust this is fitted with a 4" BTCC spec race cat and an additional silencer .
which along with the rear silencer are repackable.
The intercooler has a WRC spec core and polished end can's(internally)
Apart from that and some suspension and dif mod's it's pretty standard.

OH just one other thing it has computer controlled four wheel drive and four wheel steer 8)

what does that sound like then Doc!
REGARDS Kermit :)
