Don't suppose anybody else had computer probs

Post by kermit the frog »

Happy new year to you all.
I know it's over halfway through January.
Everything is soaked through. ( and i mean everything
My back garden looks like a remake of the battle of the somme.
The area in which my BX sits is a lake at the present moment.
So no further progress in the repairs department.
If you happen to live in a flood plane you wish the BX was amphibious.
(did they ever make one!!!!!)
To get back to what this started as i have had the most enormous virus attack to my computer in the history of it.
Hope the rest of you have been much luckier than me.
Looking forward to some of the events this year and hope to get to some if and when the weather breaks long enough to get my car finished.

Regards Kermit

Happy New Year to you kermit,

It seems like it's been raining forever here as well. It's just not the right kind of weather for working on cars. It must be about three months since I got my hands dirty on a BX -- touch wood, the 19TXD I'm driving seems to be really reliable.

I often wonder if some kind of Trojan virus is secretly in charge of my computer. I use the free AVG antivirus and hope for the best.

Regards ellevie

Thanks for that i have now got the same anti virus software and it seems to be doing the trick.
Its a pity that all the wood that has washed up on the beach here is not up for grabs.
I could have built a huge garage and all my problems would be solved.
I understand that anybody found taking the wood could be fined up to £1000.

I guess they can fine you for taking shells and pebbles too. For God's sake, if rubbish is washed up on the shore, surely it'd be doing them a favour to clear it up! The JCBs weren't exactly being gentle with the wood - maybe the owners of the wood could sue them for damage to property? :D

I quite agree Phil
After all it must be insured.
We will probably be paying more council tax to cover the clear up operation.
still it gives them something to do .

I went down to the beach on Sunday and there was tons and tons of the stuff in all sizes from 8x2 down to ship lap in lengths from 8ft to 20ft what a waste.

Regards Kermit :) ^^bx>

I think its a load of bull by our so called authorities who for some reason think they should be looking after the insurers interests. I wonder what they would be saying if it was oil?

It is a very odd sight. I'm about 15 miles east of Kermit and although we haven't had quite as much as him, there's still a fair amount of wood washing up here.

I walked down to the beach yesterday and took some pictures with my phone. It was very odd seeing a familiar setting covered in alien objects, as far as I could see.

The ones on the promenade must have been cleared off the beach and put there by the council, there's no way they could have washed up that far. Bit odd that they didn't clear them right away.

I was under the impression that anything washed up on the beach was considered "treasure trove". You had to inform the authorities that you have whatever it is that you have, and if the owner comes forward then you are obliged to give it back.

That is certainly the case with the container ship that ran aground down near exeter a while back. Containers were being washed up with everything from cat food to complete motorbikes in them. It was all over the news.

If it were me, I'd be down there with the van at 4AM loading up. Keep it somewhere for a few months and then make good use of it.

Sorry for late reply been busy trying to sort out flooded area around BX
Now it looks like a workable area again.
dumped about a ton of pea shingle in the area given to me by a kind neighbor who was fed up with his gravel drive.

With regard to the wood situation there is gossip that it has been bought by someone to turn it into furniture thats a lot of chairs etc

Still it gets it off the beach

Regards Kermit
