They need some work to bring back to their best, but rare so worth the effort?

Look like original pattern directional tyres. Wheels are cheap enough (they'd fetch more in scrap) but I'd imagine tyres would be hard to find and bloody expensive. Definately worth saving though.

Are they actually metric sized wheels? or are they the later proper 14" one's?

I had some of these on my MK1. Fitted 165x70x14 no problem
They think it's all over, it is now!

Given that the listing says the tyres are Michelin TRX 170/65 R 365 82H, I'd say they are indeed original metrics rather than the 14" copies. 165/70 R14's won't fit these.

Astoundingly, someone has already put a surprisingly high bid on these. I may bid up a bit higher, but I get the feeling that "amj1305" really wants them.

I would pay a tenner a wheel for them due to there rarity, finding tyres may be fun though lol

Is right. I also seem to recall someone on here saying (a while ago now) that they had similar looking wheels which were not metric. Possibly it was Kitch but I may be wrong. As you say david you'd never fit 14" tyres on these, nor would you be able to fit tubes in them either. Long while since I was a tyre fitter but I seem to recall these equal approximately 13.5 inches.

Well, I learn something. I thought all of these wheels were called 'Metric' owing to the design and not the sizing. Fortunately mine are the later species. My knowledge of wheels and tyres is not great. One is round and one is black. Anyway, Friday night so Cheers! beers

Longstone classic tyres are doing this size in directional Michelins for £110 each, presumably plus VAT. So for 'just' £477 plus cost of wheels you're laughing. Or not, as the case may be!
