I've asked a question - or ten - and got a good reply. (And pics are expected tomorrow which will set my mind at rest a bit more).

My good lady wants this one. And who am I to argue.

Kwality. No pictures, shit description and high start price. Unless he has some mates whacking the price up I do believe you will be the only bidder Philip. Oh, and as 'reserve is not met' at his current start price I wouldn't be holding my breath tbh.

Not going to bid, we are going to wait for answers to a long list of questions and hopefully some pics before we decide. She (spoke to her last night) has it advertised for £500. It sounds a nice one but for that you'd expect it to have no issues. I won't bid, just make an offer if we decide to go for it.

I think it's a bit too far away to risk it without a comprehensive set of pics though.

(And apparently someone local's looking at it today).

I did mention Mr.B's TZD to my wife and we both agree - again - it's just too far away. We'll sit tight and wait I think.

I know Ken  But I just can't justify the time and cost of travelling what will end up being a full day. And I think I'll wait for something nearer - and as my good wife says, we might need something bigger... (story of my life    )...

Besides the TZD of this thread has been sold to the people who viewed it this morning.

...and paid somewhere between £450 and £500 i think.

What you need is an XM then, I'm sure she'll like that

My bro in law, has picked up a virtually mint 2.1td Auto estate for £500 on a P with just 71,000 miles genuine.

Only problems seem to be, the o/s handbrake is sticking and ...

the headgasket has gone. :o

however the head is now off and away at the head reconditioners being skimmed. So hopefully towards the back end of this week it will be back on the road. :?

I advised him to buy it, as it was local and he's unlikely to find a better one anywhere. Sometimes you just have to attack problems differently to get what you want.

My own XM is about to have a well earned 3 month rest. Or at least until it gets a bit warmer.

Seriously Phil it can't take that long to get a train to Preston and then drive it back can it? I reckon it's worth it because BXs of that quality rarely come along mate. I'm not having a go or a dig by the way.

It's OK Billy :D . I know, but maybe two BXs aren't what we need after all...

Ken, an XM is tempting, but I am not a DIYer and think it might be too risky. I was interested in Ian's, but in the end, it wasn't to be.

I think we might end up with a Synergy 1.9TD with air, like this:

In that case almost any crime against fashion in the motoring world is fogiven Phil. That BX in the pic looks ace, 16V I take it?
