Leather?

Post by SamWise »

Were many BX's equipped with leather interiors? I don't remember ever seeing one, but they seem to be referred to here. I think estate wise, I'd rather have a CX or an XM, for sheer size, which means that my ideal BX becomes a Turbo diesel hatch with the best possible spec. Mr B's former car, with a leather interior, in fact. Pipe dream?

I used to have a leather interior.

Didnt like it though. Best thing about a BX is how chuckable they are, you dont want to be sliding around on leather seats!

IMO the ultimate BX is like you say a TZD Turbo with aircon and probably a 16v interior.

No BXs came with leather as standard, not in the UK anyway, im not a fan myself of it although it does look nice.

You mean like these. :D This is a BX that my mate Shaune has just acquired and to be honest, it's the first BX I've seen that the leather seats look good in. Just my opinion you understand.

Looks nice! See, in a black or red TZD turbo.......wouldn't it?

Of course, if most of the hardcore fan base thinks it looks crap, then I'd be in with more of a chance. I'd be tempted by a GTi as a hooligan car, but frankly, I'd rather have a CX GTi Turbo 2 for that, and it'd need gas then before I could really use it much. Really good TZD in black or red is the ticket, and look for the leather later. All that said, a GS and a CX are probably still further up the list; it all depends what comes along though, doesn't it?

My Gti had leather, swiped by the CCC member who sold me the car, i think he stuck it in a 16 petrol  as mine inherited the shite coloured tweed seats which meant fast cornering you slid out of the seat :o

In France, the leather was unavailable even optional on bx estate ,but I installed it on my TZI because the seats and doors panels of saloons and estates are the same!Only leather seats available on bx estate were by the buffalo's option by Heuliez , in black "classic" leather as the citroen option , or in beige with specif seats and door panels !

I didn't realise no British BXs came with leather. Having owned one, and seen a handful, I always thought they were just a rare option. Assume the leather interiors 'over here' were originally purchased abroad?

I think Tim said it didn't come as standard. Doesn't that mean it would precisely be a rare option?

Leather was always an option, but it was a bloody expensive option..

My valver has leather, and yes, it looks very cool.
But as Ian said, it's actually a PITA given that it's hard to stay in the seat when you're giving it beans.

Oh, and whilst TD's are great cars, the ultimate BX ride is, was, and always will be a 16v.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

For hooligan driving, that may be right. For long, long days on the motorway, I'd think a high spec diesel wins. In other news, I'm pleased to see I'm not the only person who combines Citroens with Buses!
