A few 'subtle' changes...

Post by Matt H »

Hi everyone,

Just given my BX it's first proper valet, and took a few pics of it with it's new wheels and rear spoiler...

I will have to re-do the wheels at some point to make them match, and unfortunately, the rough winds the other night blew some kind of rubble onto the freshly fitted spoiler, causing a massive scratch ](*,)

On the upside, I wasn't happy with the finish anyway, so it gives me an excuse to re-paint it.

Never seen that type of steering wheel before... is that a standard BX wheel?
this might be a signature

The wheel is from an AX GT...

It's slightly smaller, and thicker than the BX one.

Ahhh, that explains it. I was wondering
I used to have a MG Maestro wheel on my mini(s)

Le Mans seats, and speedlines. Looks ace mate!
All you need now is a P2 body kit and you're in a proper style icon!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

A phase 2 body kit is on the agenda... If anyone has anything lying around

...Although I think a set of normal painted bumpers would probably do the trick for now.

Thanks for the comments.

You can paint the bumpers on your car matt, I did it on the ex cavmad Gti Auto and they looked fine aftewards, as your car is quite a rare colour you may struggle to find any.

Again, looks great matey, well done!

Of course I'll be at The National Tim 8) , to catch up with the gang- in what I don't know. Perhaps the ole Merc bus ? All efforts are being directed to taking the 16v to the big Citroen meeting in Rome in August - anyone else up for it?

Yes, I am still trying to find an AX GT carb etc... I haven't really been looking, but it is something I would still like to do.

As to painting the bumpers on my car, I think I would like to get a better front bumper to start with, as the current one has seen quite a bit of action, and I was thinking about one with foglights...

Does anyone know what the colour of my car actually is? I thought it was Meteor Grey but I'm not certain.

Regards,
Matt

Hi Matt, you can retro fit fogs but as you say it maybe best getting a decent used bumper with fogs and painting it to match, if you lift the bonnet and look at the top of the wheelarch (passenger side) there should be (under the muck) a 3 letter code, thats the colour code or if you have the original service book it may say it in that aswell in the front PDI page.
