Not for 100% certain. I've had probably 70+ cars since that one, it's just it looks familiar.

Cheers Ian. That had had a top end rebuild and wasn't a bad car at all. It did want some minor work iirc but mostly cosmetic.

Sounds like a dodgey bloke already, or a bird!

But with a bonnet that needs painting (and silver will need to be blended on the wings too) he's having a giggle at a £750 reserve!

Got to agree with Kitch regarding prices, if anything valver prices have come down, methinks petrol prices on the increase might have something to do with that.

Could be that diesel bx's start increasing in value & might one day overtake valvers

I think you're right. Our TD ZX is the car of choice in the main. The BX doesn't get used every day. Mind you it's a lot more economical (26mpg round town and 36 or more on a run) than my old GTi autos...

That bonnet is off my old now Artics 16TRS, which I gave to tim favell as he was short of one, all the lacquer had peeled.

How did your bonnet end up on that 16V and who's Time?

My guess would be that a 10MM spanner, or possibly a rather flamboyant socket and ratchet were employed to undo the 4 10mm nuts that secure the bonnet to the bonnet hinges, then the old bonnet can be lifted free of the car, thereafter the new (or in this case secondhand and silver) bonnet can be lifted onto the bonnet hinges where the same 4 10mm nuts that removed moments earlier can be done back up (after fitting the earh straps of course) using the aforementioned spanner or rather more flamboyant socket and ratchet.....

Time is the method we have used for many many years now that tells us what part of the day it is.

Since Time has lost one in this case I can only assume it's summer time, since obviousley here the clocks go forward an hour in the summer, and therefore an hour gets lost.
Thats my theory anyway.

From memory the car had rust holes in the rear footwell and the had been involved in a front end shunt, a new crossmember had been welded in badly! lol When tim removed the bumper he had a shock!

Christ on a bike, it must have been a bad crash if the shock was under the bumper

Infact it must have had the remains of the car it shunted in it as BX's dont have shocks!
Unless it was of the lektriky smoke variety...
