A belated but very heartfelt thank you to the Doc for dismembering Silver Machine for the common good last weekend. There's a pile of parts there for them's that interested. Can whoever was looking for a seat belt stalk PM me? I grabbed one from the car.

O Guru, please be telling whether door windows were salvaged? If so are the metal bits that hold the glass any good? Mine have major corrosion issues, L reg whereas I am told earlier models were made from a more durable alloy.

Yes mate, the doors complete were removed, so all glass is present. As for the condition of the channels, I have no idea, but can check at the weekend dude!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Ed - the rhs drivers door has a distorted regulator & hence doesn't close properly for the last inch of travel. However I believe the channels are good.

While checking out the problem, before I discovered the distorted regulator I felt all around the channels and couldn't detect any corrosion - though this was purely by feel.

Channels do rot out but, surprisingly they are remarkably cheap from the dealer! Jon bought some last year IIRC.

Just wondering if we're on the same wavelength/channel here :? . To clarify, my issue is with the horizontal channel with rubbery layer gripping the glass at the bottom. Jon did some welding to remedy the corrosion but now (some months later) the channel is not gripping the glass rendering the window unuseable

They can be an arse to fit, I've broken a couple of bits of glass fitting the damn things.
Either way Ed, there's a full set of glass up the farm with channels should you require them.

I shall be there sat and sun all things being equal, although the police are busy blowing a house in a neighbouring street at the moment that had been occupied by a failed suicide bomber... (No I'm not joking)
So if they manage to do the deed without blowing me up aswell then I shall be up the farm all weekend, give us a shout to check though, you have my number yes?
Afternoons are more usual for me to be in attendance..
I dont do mornings.
