Citromobile 2008

Post by toddao »

Did anyone get over to Utrecht this year? Found this fellas photo collection on Flickr - some great Cits and many BXs - that one with two steering wheels is quite strange! Must get there one year.

 :) Not just the two steering wheels! The whole car is in 2 halves, the left hand side being Mk1 and the right hand side Mk2.

Interstingly done that.
I'd have a stab at saying the bodyshell is Mk1 and the Mk2 bits have been added to it.
Although the N/S/R door is also Mk2, which seems a bit odd..
Not sure quite what the point is, but interesting as an installation I guess.
I'm sure the O/S controls dont actually work though, although if it did that would be rather cool!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

off topic.........but in France a few years ago they used to have driving school cars with two steering wheels.........don't know if there was any bias towards the instructors!

Hehe, thats are my pictures!

the theme of Citromobile was 'Old & New'.

So the BX club Holland gets the idea to make from a type 1 and a type 3 BX, one BX! 8) But after Citromobile, the BX was going to the junk yard!

Hello Timmo,

that's funny that they are your photos! They're very good. I'm often looking on Flickr and I found those. Always a great display at Citromobile - I also like the custom CX with the strange rear lights.
I hope to make it next year..

Hi Doc
Only just caught up with this thread
The good lady wife is doing very well getting very tired though but improving every day.
When you say friction welding i presume you mean rubbing the two halves together at great speed to produce enough heat.
bit like creating fire by rubbing two boy scout's together.

seems such a pity that the BX with the split personaliy is going to the scrappies what a waste.
should be in a museum somewhere.

Regards Kermit :) :)

Very glad to hear it mate. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
Donr let her overdo it for a while, speaking from past experience it's tempting to push yourself too hard initially and that just creates set backs later.

meh, it's only a car, theres plenty of them, and they are replaceable.

Ooh, pub lunch, sounds good!

Er, nah, space is limited to the extreme right now, so just now I'll pass thanks!
