Woking Hospice Classic Car Show and Fayre, 1st June, 12-5pm

Post by mnde »

Would be nice to see a cohort of BXs hereon Sunday 1st June. They're expecting over 300 cars, and going by the categories on the entry form, there seems to be no anality over what is considered a classic. The group categories are:

Car clubs, Veteran & Vintage, Pre & Post to 1950, 50s to 80s Classics, 80's to 2000 Modern Classics, 2000 to '08 Future Classics, Competition Cars, American Cars, Light Commercial Vehicles & Vintage Farm Machinery, Light Military Vehicles, Motorcycles

I'm going in my GSA, ren16tx will be taking something or other, his mate Steve is taking his new Dyane... Anyone up for it? Only £5 to enter a car (including 2 occupants), £3 for adult spectators, 50p for children. Hurry if you want to enter a car: they don't accept entries on the day!

Cheers,

Mark.

IF I can get the valver finished off this weekend then yes, I'm up for that, but that rather depends on how the wreck goes really. Looks like a good day out though!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Would've seriously considered this if I hadn't been booked already for a visit to points West this weekend just gone. Perhaps just as well, as on Friday night, as I left, Grolliffe's exhaust decided to bite back on me, and transform into Gruyere, leaving the car sounding like the Doc's forklift. Wouldn't have been terribly impressive: apparently the good burghers of Lacock in Wilts were hanging out of their historic windows in a state of alarm on Friday night as I boomed past their TV-production-friendly frontages.

Many thanks to the Doc for his assistance in the luckiest BX repair I think I've ever been involved in: after squinting under the car the next a.m. and looking for an intermediate back box locally (ho ho), contacted the Doc, who offered to try and do something. It turned out (as a great surprise to both of us), that he had both TD back boxes from a scrapper in used but serviceable form, which was just as well as the rear box was also completely 'cheesed'.
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

Would have been nice, and I'd hoped to squeeze it in, but this weekend turned out to be spectacularly busy! Sorry. Hope you enjoyed it.
