16 valve spotted in Warriewood

Post by pindimar »

I remember a year or so ago posting something about parking at a Repco store in Sydney and lo and behold next to my BX19 TZi wagon was another BX19 TZi wagon. Someone on this site in the UK made the point at the time that it would be very unusual in the UK much less in Australia where BXs have always been rare to say the least.

So, anyway, the other day and four years later I had to drive to the Northern Beaches area of Sydney to meet a client at a shopping centre called Warriewood Square and parked in the car park area protected by sun shading and when I came back to the car lo and behold a silver BX 16Valve drives up and parks just opposite my BX! OK, a coincidence in a city of 4 million people with very few BXs ever there in the first place but this particular 16Valve was bought at a Citroen specialist on the far side of Sydney around four years ago and the owner traded his BX19 TZi Olympic Blue manual wagon in at this dealer. That is the car that I bought. Here's a photo showing how close both cars were in the car park, The owner, by the way, just pulled up and walked off without seeming to notice the TZi . . . what a hoot! But he was, without doubt the same guy who owned my car!

So here's the photo: Greg F
