Remeber many months ago I commented on the lack of BXs I spotted int he frist year of being back as a BX owner in NZ? Well thats changed a bit and the stragest thing is in the last week I have seen two cars identical to mine. Well one identical except for the fact it was a TZI not TZS and sold from the same garage in Auckland and its interior now sits in mine.

Yesterday on a jaunt to the big smoke of Hamilton spotted this little beast and a Red BX make and model unknown coming at me on a bend in the road. Two in one day

The one in the picture has a sunroof which was typical of sunroofs taped up to stop leakage I would bet. Checked its detail on a ewebsite out here and higher ks probably clock turned back and origin in Japan. Seems it was on the road for about 7 years in Japan before coming to NZ unlike mine.

TZi with the polycardonate window in the C pillar, funny the way they're all over the place because as I undertstand it the TZi didn't have that Cpillar treatment - at least not in Australia

has the craze for the BX subsided in Japan, is that why they are being exported second-hand to NZ? makes you wonder about the economics of it all.

I remember a few years ago at least , the Japanese were very busy importing BMC Farina 1100s such as Vanden Plas 1100 & 1300s to Japan - wonder what's happened with that craze too?

They are a faddy bunch - fashions come and go with astonishing speed over there.

Australia and New Zealand = Two Differant Countrys

Theres a website called carfax where you can tap in the rego number and get the past details of the cars and do a mileage check. Thats how I found out this one was a import from Japan in 1999. Also spotted 25,000 kms mising on the clock plus what ever it lost on its way from Japan.

Notable differances was a differant Exhaust Tail Pipe (straight) and lack of spoiler. Also it was fitted with a sunroof and no aircon! The TZS took a part was more like my one with Aircon and also was what they call New Zealand New, meaning not driven overseas.

In honesty to see an identical BX would rare so many differant trim levels etc.

I agree with Stuart
I too have worked with and for Japanese people.
They change what they like overnight for no reason it is very strange.
But also very interesting.
Faddy and Japanese same meaning.
