BX Obs JUN 08

Post by jrdpod »

The odd "new" BX continues to pop up in my travels.

J724 GBD, 19TGD, dark red - Clapham, SW London.
J733 JCD, 17TZD estate, white - seen Cambridge.

Unidentified silver BX h/b, at Thorrington Car Breakers, near Colchester,
Essex.

Regards
John Podgorski/jrdpod.

BX Obs JUN 08

The same could be said for the BX's contemporary French rival, the Renault 21, the only difference being that there seem to be even less of those around now.

For that matter, one British "equivalent" of the BX also now seems to be very scarce; the Austin Montego.

Most of the BXs you still see, tend to be the "facelifted" G to L reg examples.
I also see a fair number of Ford Sierras and Vauxhall Cavaliers of this era;
once again "rivals" to the BX.

My Cars: 90s/00s - lots of BX hatches/estates 16/19i/17td/19d
2020s - A shinier red TZD estate has replaced scruffy 19TXD "Red Shed".

Both are still relatively common in rural France as general hacks, though the 21s are often parked up driveways/yards in twos (one as a spares car, probably).
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

There was one parked outside my house the other day - made me look twice, as I can't remember the last time I saw one.
