A smart move might be to turn up, pay the entry fee for the day and then pitch your tent. I am sure nobody is policing it.
Don't tell anyone though. Its like a ryanair flight. Don't ask any one what they paid as they will almost invariably have paid a lot less than you.
I wont be doing that though, just pitching up for Sunday.

The Joy of BX with just one Citroën BX to my name now. Will I sing Bye Bye to my GTI or will it be Till death us do part.
Don't forget that the fee includes the entertainment which last year was in a huge big top of a tent subtly lit with neon strips, no music, no bar to speak of ( though there were some warm tins of beer tantalisingly displayed). When I went in there there were about five people stood round in the fluorescent wash.
That's a Parrrrty!!

Hi BXers, I have never been to this rally before and I'd be traveling a fair old mileage, is it really so bad?
Also it's easy to say it's bad but surely it would be better to make some suggestions for a better event, as a 2CVGB member too, I really enjoyed the 2CV world meeting in Kelso in 2005, it was ace but there were still detractors bitchin about the bogs and the showers and the cost and the fact it went overbudget and so on.. Still loved it though.

No, it's not so bad actually.
The price is abit steep though.
In short, the 2CV guys know how to party, and they do with legendary prowess.
I tend to go to the national to meet up with old friends and make some new ones, and drink alot of beer.
It seems to work out that the BX clan invade an area and have our own little social group.
Cant say I spend much time looking around the rest of the event.
So I guess it depends what you're after in an event really.
I still find a fair few of the "old boys brigade" rather stuffy and condescending, but I ignore them.
I dont go to look at cheque book restored D's, or talk about how things were better immediatley post war, I go for the beer and a laugh.

Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!
Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Yes, me too - tis a bit of a hike from Colditz. It was very enjoyable last year - the neon tent is a glorious white elephant . A good opportunity to catch up with the muckers from this here forum, chew the cud and drain a few. Also picked up some parts on Sunday shuffling around the stalls with a fuzzy head.. ( even my wife enjoyed it : very eccentric she thought. Well, Citroens always did attract weirdos)I'd be traveling a fair old mileage,

Well I'll be there on Sunday... What's the best time to turn up? I'm guessing not too early as everybody who stayed over probably won't appreciate being woken up
I was planning on camping over... but unfortunately it can't happen Shame cause I've heard it is a really good laugh.
But still, it will be good to finally meet everyone, and buy Doc a beer... Even if that towing eye cover still hasn't turned up
Any other BX 14s coming?
Matt
