Oi Hedges, give us the story here!
Just spotted this photo of the nice blue estate with big new dents in it!

Ah. Yes. I did post a brief explanation here, but that possibly deserved its own thread outside of the parts bin!
Basically, I was happily trundling along when someone decided that he'd pull out of a side turning without looking. The car will be fine - the structure is straight (Rutherford certified) so it just wants a pair of doors. The bloke stopped and left his details, and WILL pay.

Is that in money, or punishment via a large fist?stuart_hedges wrote:and WILL pay.
Good to see you back and a shame to hear about the damage. At least you (and Grandma) are unhurt and it's not too bad a repair. There are a couple of new doors on eBay, but will need spraying and all the bits swapping over. Plus they are ~£50 each!

I'm heading east on Friday anyway, so I've arranged to have a look then! With a bit of luck they will have faded at the same rate as my car and will look right.Philip Chidlow wrote:£70 for a pair of decent Olympic Blue driver's side doors anyone?
The first sprayer I got a quote from said, "That's a tidy car - there's no reason for it to be two different colours. We'll do a proper blending job." He was quite right.
The other problem is the trims - fingers crossed the doors at Edwards will have the right ones, or I'll have to source some more. They are single-use only apparently, as pulling them off a car ruins them.
Graeme, did you look at my map on Flickr? Useful feature - I've placed the photos exactly where it happened
