Well I'd give him £100 for it... Strip it of all the bits I need they weigh it in. Probably get most of the money back. It's a sad fact, but it aint good enough to sacrifice another 16v to get it back on the road again.

It is a huge shame, but at least he is offering it back for parts rather than just bailing the whole lot.

If anyone a bit closer, with space for it fancies striping it, I'd happily put some money in just for the bits I need.

True Matt, the wheels are worth half the asking price, and thena nice monza interiors worth about the same aswell. Still a shame.

Trouble is how many people want a Monza interior or ncie set of standard alloys now? There's every chance wheels need a refurb and interior quite possibly far from mint so £99 isn't all that cheap in my eyes, plus scrap has dropped quite a bit AND you'd have to hire a trailer plus the fuel costs to get the thing.

Well I've spent considerably more than that on the 16v bits I have already, if you take into account the fuel and everything... But it's all peanuts compared to insuring the damn thing.

If you think that I want the skirts, spoiler rubbing strips, the whole dash, carpets... well the list goes on, but it is worth it for me.

I just can't pick it up, or put it anywhere right now

I'd be interested in the interior alone. He's about an hour away from me.

Well he said I'm first in line for the skirts if it doesn't sell...

I'd still be willing to go halves(possible more?) on it with someone.

Well, there is a possibility that I will have access to a trailer for free (Not 100% sure, need to check next week), so things might just start to add up.

If this is the case, I am really tempted if it doesn't go any higher than the starting price. There is still 5 days on the auction, so I'll see if I can borrow some cash from somewhere and make a bid... If this goes ahead, it would mean there would be parts available... And If you want the interior Kitch, it's yours as I won't be needing it. As for me not having any space, I will have to be creative... and turn it around pretty quickly.

Of course, there is only a slight possibility of this coming off anyway, and I've got to talk my Dad into towing it... But I can hope

Bear in mind matt the car will be sat down on its bumpstops and wont have any brakes! So you may need to remove the front bumper and winch it on the back of a trailer.

Well, someone has bid... and it's not me.

Unless I get a bit drunk on Friday and make a silly last-minute bid, I think (regretfully) I will have to let it go. I was hoping that nobody else would bid... I think £100 is about what it is worth.

shame, but you have to know when to say no sometimes...
