Injection or carb?

Post by cavmad »

Excusing my dimness is this engine injection or carb (it`s a 405 1.6 petrol) and would it go straight into my BX16 (carb) please? Thanks,

Depends on when it was made. The 405 and BX engines are the same XU5- except maybe the carb-fed 405 engines had Weber carbs, if I remember correctly. After 92 or thereabouts, they HAD to be injection.
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

That's up to silly money already. £150 for a 1.6 petrol 405 saloon is about £100 too much. Granted, a late 405 TD estate is still worth several hundred £, but a low-spec petrol saloon is worth nothing.

I'd keep looking for something a whole load cheaper!

PS... Cavmad... did you get my pm about the cav bits?
