And the one off the filler cap, please?

Looks great though. Just shows how shiny a car can get with a coating of elbow grease. 8)

Yes its all going ( the filler cap, door stickers, bumper stickers and pug 205 mirrors )

Replacing the exhaust with the scorpian off the green 16v ( the one i bought off you :D ) Then putting genuine electric bx door mirrors back on but may colour code them yet. Keeping the twin headlamp set up + the bonnet as its different but may downsize alloys from 17s to 14s that i have in the shed but they need reconditioning first.

Why so mate?
If you like the look then why change it?
I think it looks rather good, and it stands out, nowt wrong with that.
And how I wish my TD was that shiny!

oh it stands out alright! it turns more heads than the saxo boys but that is not hard lol.

Ill definitly pull the stickers off as they have been there since 2001. Ive still got to get this aircon sorted out and fitted and im off up to macclesfield in 3 weeks so i may take the loom i have and arrange to meet vanny and see if he will sort it out for some pennys.

doc, If you want your td nice and shiny if you come down here at some point with vanny ( if you want to ) to help me with this aircon ill t-cut and polish your td for you.

Thats very kind mate, but alas I dont think theres enough paint left on the TD to cut again! It's getting rather, er, thin in places.
I'll respray the thing at some point, when I get time and the bus is done probably..

It's been a long time since I've been to Britains best county so yes a visit may well be in order once things have calmed down a bit up here.

Oh, and dont forget Vanny's moved now!
He aint a scouser anymore...

:( Oh i forgot vanny had moved. God knows how im going to get this loom to him cause its way to heavy to post and its a complete binbag full.

Changed exhausts over at the weekend and i now have the scorpian back box fitted to the red 16v :D sounds rather nice too.

Most of my aircon parts have been striped down and cleaned ready to fit next year

(sorry about the quality of the photos)

bonnet

Post by Toddman »

Jeth wrote:Is there a place I could get bonnet like that? It's Musketier right?
The bonnet came from a Belgian rally car - the car blew its engine during a stage and my mates ended up buying the car and stripping it.
I bought that bonnet and a set of early quads from them but decided it just wouldn't look right in white so passed it onto Rob.
It is most likely a MK1 item as shown in the Citroen accessories brochure - http://www.bx16valve.co.uk/40.html

Car looking good Rob :D

Cheers

*time to update this thred*

Well the car has been sat in the garage since early feb, i laid it up because i got fed up of it leaking lhm on the road out side our house. The plans are to return it to the road in late september and ive just ordered a recon hp pump and flow diverter and also a brand new metal/rubber pipe that goes from the flow diverter to pressure reg ( i think as that the one thats leaking  ) most of the hydraulic parts have been change now 8) .

Im also removing the postert bonnet and re-fitting the standard item and also looking for some original electric door mirrors so i can re-fit the originals but the twin headlamp conversion is staying im afraid as i realy quite like it. The paint is also faded again and ive come to the conclusion the paints had it as it just wont hold its shine and stay red any longer so ive been in talks with a local body shop ( the best in cornwall ) to strip it back and re-spray the lot but not the engine bay though. The price is 3 and a half times what the car is currently worth although i dont care as i like the car and plan on keeping it as long as i can ( already had it 9 years now )

some pics to come as the work starts :D
