Oh no - the BXagon has a potential challenger.

Well only in my head. I was wondering how far it is around the Edge of England. I would estimate 1,500 miles or so (I wouldn't include Scotland or Wales as, well, they aren't England and anyway there's a Wales and a Scotland version to consider too! - let's not under dilute the concept!).

So the Triumph/Rover/MG Club or whatever (actually maybe open it to any classic 'English' car) taking inspiration from the BXagon) might well want to do something like it. A 'Take it to the Edge' tour, for example "in aid of Children in Need" or suchlike... it would be a good 'un I guess. Starting on the coast in a suitable 'English' place like Skegness, and following (as much as is practical) coastline routes around via Margate, Brighton, Southhampton etc. etc.

Wonder if anyone would take it up?

And if anyone here got involved.... what 'English classic' would you take?

And what English car would be up to it? 8) Would this be? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1975-TRIUMPH-STAG ... 0323175910

Or if your budget doesn't extend that far - and you'r handy with a Mig:

Sort of, Mr. M. I'm trying to sort out an animated clip that's appearing on a DVD that comes with a book I've written. The animator is in Singapore and the files are quite big, so there's a fair amount of tedious waiting. But we're getting there.

But in all honesty, doing this doesn't use up all my brain space so my thoughts do wander... :D

I've always wanted to do a 'round Britain' trip in a car and discussed it about 3 years back with some people but it never got off the ground. Phil, it must be some bloody job you've got you lucky sod. I thought I was the king of doing f*** all at work but I must have been warming the throne up for you!
Incidentally if that pic was 2005 it can't have been too much longer after that I bought it?

Well let's see how BXagon goes, but if it inspires a follow-on English tour then that's all good - so long as it is for charity!

My 'job' is sometimes easy, sometimes hard - but always a bit precarious: I work for myself you see... But I love it (designing books for children and young adults). Pays just enough to be 'OK' without being able to drive around in a new car every two years! (like some ostentatious ba****s) :D

BTW, That pic was taken just before you bought it, yes.

If it snows this year I'll do a similar pic, but with Phoenix, the valver and the P2'd TD in the pic!

BTW, I get paid to sit on my arse and abuse people, now thats living!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Somewhere there is a room, with two chairs in it, with doc hurling abuse at stuart for no apparent reason. At the end of the day they both get paid and leave.

There's Fifth Gear or magazines for that. Top Gear is for entertainment.

I have to say, I agree with Stuart. I've given up watching Top Gear for any serious insight into real-world motoring... it can be very entertaining... but it has the ability to disapoint too (as well as provoke anger - as some posts on this forum have already revealed).
