BX Owners are so polite to other BX owners

Post by kiwi »

Very rare for me to see another BX whilst driving my own BX that actually moving as well!

Today it happened we were heading south noticed that familer headlamp design coming the other way and like a mirror a white BX that as it passed turned out to be a 16 valve. 8)

What made my day is even more rare on New Zealand roads unless your driving a commercial vehicle was a wave of acknowledgement that I doubt would have got if not been in another BX.

Kind of gesture missed from being back in the UK put a smile on my face today :D

That must be the dude on AF that lives in Wellington??
There simply cant be that many valvers on NZ?

Oddly enough when I see a BX over here I always wave, but more often than not the occupant of the other car never waves back.

Although I am sometimes driving a bus, so most probably think I;'m just some weird freak that likes waving.....

Still, smiling is good.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Only ever got flashed once in the UK. They're old bangers to 99.9% of the population over here. Only a matter of time before one gets wrecked on Top Gear, then the other 0.1% will also think its a shit old banger.

But for the record, it was an old guy after the FOS a couple of years ago in a red estate (guessing a diesel!).

My BX is the only car I've owned that I have had an offer to buy it, from a complete stranger. It's happened to me twice.

I'll usually try and look at the owner, see if they look like the BX fan (bearded, ale drinking) or just someone in a cheap runabout (less and less likely nowaday due to 'them complicated hydrolics' (sp!)) Then give a wave or a flash (of the lights).

Ok. Beard. Check. Ale. Check. drinking Adnams 'Carbon neutral' ! tonight.
Good to feel part of the family at Christmas.

I couldn't believe it in August when i saw another Dubin registered BX TZD turbo pass me on the motorway - they're pretty rare over here - absolutely gorgeous condition. In silver, got the registration.. must find a way of tracking them down. But not stalking, no

A family looking so comfortable and relaxed floating along compared to most in other cars. A wave and a couple of smiles of recognition. Yes i'm in deep. Theres no return. I'm now verging on hankering after a CX.

you can be weird without a beard as i sometimes am. Once a month usually. Around the full moon.

London Pride is a great ale in a pub that knows how to keep it well. I had many a quality London Pride in the Prince George in Hackney in London, a cracking pub.

This particular strain is bottled Adnams 'East Green Caron Neutral' - i'd like to see the stats! from Southwold in Suffolk - aquired in Tesco up in Northern Ireland today on a 'cash in on the euro-pound exchange rate' run pre-xmas. Even the missus was happy :D

I'm weird with or without the beard!

I rather like Adnams as a brewery, but I'm not so keen on the carbon neutral stuff.
Where's the fun if it aint destroying the planet?

I'm on the Tribute from St. Austell brewery this evening.
My fave drink from my fave brewer's from my fave county.

Oh, and I saw Adamski this eve on the way home from work in his CX.
I did infact blow the horn and wave as I went past!
Entirely illegally as it was past 2330hrs, but meh...

Well I love 'reel' ale, malt whisky, gin, brandy and red wine, and have been classed as 'weird' before now. And I have a beard. Is there any hope for me?
