Yeah, but to be fair a) they've possibly had years of good use out of the car and hope someone will save it and b) we're supposed to be promoting the BX. Suggesting it's scrap before seeing it properly doesn't seem right to me. Don't get me wrong if it's knackered then it's knackered, but scrapping it without trying to fix it or at least trying to save parts of it would be madness.

Shite pictures, both of which are the same, description of whats wrong is shite again, no mileage mentioned, its a petrol auto, erm does it have anything going for it?

However, i do agree with your sentiments billy, so get it bought so we can take the rip

I'm afraid its unlikely to be saved as its just not an interesting model or one that people in the know actually want, its a shame, but a lot better one's than that i bet, have now been cubed....

Someone prove me wrong, get it bought & take it to the National looking like its just come out of the factory

I'll buy that person a pint....

Fair point Billy but in my opinion, (and my instincts are usually right when it comes to eBay BXs - having bought seven), this is not worth the effort to sort. Better to save another BX. Anyone will tell you I'm all about promotiing and preserving the BX, but this car is past it. I've seen better prospects at the breakers.

But, in all honesty, I hope someone proves me wrong and gets another BX on the road

Shame, I can't look at that without thinking of the many bits I want from it!

C pillar windows, intake tube, rear tailgate struts, headlights, and such that would fit my car..

But if someone needs a cheep BX? It would be helpful to know just how broken the rear suspension is..... I'd wager it'll be a single pipe that's popped - possibly an easy fix with it up on a 4 poster lift.

Go for it graeme, if its used for spares i dont believe its going to be that much of a loss. Could just be a pipe, however what else needs doing to it anyway, it doesnt look as though its received that much care so i think spares is the sensible approach. What makes me laugh is that there is a reserve in the 1st place

My speculation is that one of the rear cylinders has corroded through - not uncommon.
From the description and photos given it seems to be a tad overpriced, not exactly the most desirable BX ever...

Sorry, should have said rear struts...

They are aluminium and sit inside a steel shroud. This fills up with water and the corrosion just eats away the aluminium. I have seen several that are perfect above the water line but pinholed below.

Aside from it being a 16 auto, I'd say thats not exactly scrap metal from what I can see. If its rotten as a pear underneath its a different story, but with a half decent clean and some rear suspension fettling it's ok. It's even got tax and MOT! Worth £100 of anyone who want's a BX 16 auto's money.....but that ain't me! I'd rather use a skateboard!
