some more info from seller ( yes, I'm interested!) :
But, it's a 'Cult Classic' now. Very strange name - Mrs.Gus???Thanks for your interest. Car can be driven relatively normally. Air con not currently working, needs recharging. The engine has now been confirmed as an 8v spec by an authorised Citroen dealer - they also confirm the car is a cult classic! apologies for any confusion caused by my genuine and innocent mistake which has now been rectified. We are located in SE London (Woolwich area) Regards, and thanks for your interest.Mrs Gus.

The air conditioning used to use R12 gas which is now illegal, and when I had a BX with air, I used RS24 in it (via a specialist! It's not something I would've done myself). The system was checked for leaks and a seal was replaced, I seem to remember.
It worked really well, but did need a regas every year. And now that RS24 - if not illegal now, is four times as expensive, I would recommend (if you wanted to get it working) discussing with a specialist who may be able to convert to R134. It won't be cheap, but what price a cool car?
