But you aint seen one like this!
It's not been used in anger for many many years, so I rather think any remaining blood and guts will have been long since forgotten by now, it's rather cosy for camping in too!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Fair comment except the body has done 220,000km even if the engine has been rebuilt. But what does rebuild actually mean? Your paying for the rebuild of the car not the true market value!

I would call it MINT if it was 20k on the clock and original engine.

hhmm, dificult territory there, I've seen cars with 100K + miles on them in really good nick, other cars I've seen with less than 20K on the clock and they're shagged.

End of the day though would you pay nearly twice its insurable value or come to think of it market value which is in effect insurable value?

There is nothing more rude than people who side track the discussion with stuff that can be sent via PMs.

Now I can see why certain members where gagged for a while

Carry on unless theres some equally over priced motors out there you have seen.

If it was in good condition, in limited supply and I wanted it...YES I would.

Oh there is, believe me, there really is.
Anyway, it's not side tracing, it's having a discussion, a chat, it's called being human.

Is it genuine mileage though? Does look well looked after but yea bit on the expensive side for sure.

Incidentally whats a rough price guide for BXs now back in blighty? I remeber my 60k 16RS Auto was valued at $250 back in 03 so I am guessing not a lot unless its part of the new trade in scam.

I don't think we have any structure to the BX's pricing here. Some go for ludicrously small amounts others fetch seemingly over-the-top prices.

It will form the basis, I'm sure for an interesting debate.

There are always exceptions that prove the rule too, so there is no meaningful average...

I guess a 'good' 16v will be in the order of £900-1,200.
A decent TZD turbo diesel anywhere up to £500-550 (with unmolested estates fetching best)
A Hurricane - of the diesel persuasion might fetch a tad more.
Serviceable, late BX's (except 16's) will fetch £400 plus
And there's a big pool of £0-300 hacks out there still.
16's generally suffer the most although I did have a ultra-low miles 16TGS auto that I sold for £750... (and I believe it went for even more later on).

This is my view. I'm sure there are as many opinions as there are members when it comes to the 'value' of a BX. Like many old things - it's what people are prepared to pay that dictates their value.

And I can equally see why some people get annoyed with a 'stuffed shirt' attitude like your's.

OH, incidentally Mr Pot perhaps you'd like to remind us who said 'I love the sight of Ambulances especially when they get to the scene before us.' in this very thread and also used a swear word in another post on the same thread?
Double standards perhaps?

I was told it was because some members were getting very anal and the gagging was done by people who had ideas above there station but thats all in the past now.
