I towed an H van a short way on a big car trailer with my old valver. Clutch was a bit smelly and grabby afterwards though.

I towed a BX estate, trailer tent, lots of luggage and 5 people off the motorway with my Dyane once when my father managed to run out of diesel....

A similar story to Johnathans but I remember my mums 2cv pulling my dads dead cx several miles home during the mid eighties. I also remember my dad towing a massive caravan with his 435 cc 2cv van. We had planned to go on holiday in the van but after 10 miles of trying to get into 3rd gear, we gave up and went home!

Nova TD... Rare beast now, but bloody quick if I remember rightly. (For an oil-burner anyway  )

I did my work experience at a Vauxhall dealer back in 1990 (its now a housing estate sadly), they had a Nova TD in for service and I was impressed by the way it wheelspun in seond on the greasy workshop floor as demonstrated by the mechanic, Isuzu engine wasnt it? Also remember slobbering over the Carltion GSI they had in the showroom.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Renault 5s don't make good towcars.

Looks like it was filmed off the TV, so don't know if it's real or a set up!

Very quick and as Tim said Isuzu engined. Would torque steer all over the place, lit the tyres up very easily and would embarrass far newer/flasher cars and quite a few hot hatches.
I think you can turn the boost up and play about with them like their bigger brother 1.7TD ones.

I swear it pulled my Transit like it wasn't there.
