But it's green and nice, you can't scrap them if they're green

Re: 1991 1.7 TZD Estate Met.Green For Sale (E-Bay)
Nice idea, but I have *no* off-street parking, and although sight of that might make them stop calling mine a shed, I think that breaking a car at my local relatives' may try their patience a bit too much. Shame, but can't save 'em all, hope it does end up saving others rather than just being squished.Mickey taker wrote:Might be worth Sandre buying it for spares

I still envsiage it making good money, even with the listed faults, it is after all a MOT'ed TZD Turbo estate which looks half tidy.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Re: 1991 1.7 TZD Estate Met.Green For Sale (E-Bay)
Ive got to say my old red TZD turbo estate was the best BX i've ever owned . It would certainly give the Gti a run for its money on acceleration .
It has got to be worth saving they are getting rare specially not in red ones.

Re: 1991 1.7 TZD Estate Met.Green For Sale (E-Bay)
Possibly Mick, but as I am rather busy (full-time job + job-hunting + course) it's really not happening. I'll e-mail Rob (who is also rather busy!) in case he wants to have a bid on it himself and may take some bits off him if he does buy it. But I'm passing.

Re: 1991 1.7 TZD Estate Met.Green For Sale (E-Bay)
The fact is BX TZD's are brilliant cars AND now very rare in estate form. That particualar car certainly has 'issues' but nothing that isn't a straight-forward sort for anyone handy with a spanner and a welder. I've seen 'scrappers' (Shaun and I have three or four parked up - they ARE scrappers!
) and that doesn't look like a scrapper to me - although 'scrapper' is in the eye of the beholder I suppose.

I didnt realise that TZD Turbo Estates were rare motors as BXs were concerned, always thought there were quite a few around. Been waiting as few years to get one, damned glad i did. Very impressed with the performance. And i agree, their performance is brill.

Re: 1991 1.7 TZD Estate Met.Green For Sale (E-Bay)
I think estates as a whole are getting rare, as they generally lead a harder life, and there were much fewer built. It was interesting that at the recent trip to the Conservatoire, the only estates that turned up were UK registered.

It's threads like this that make me think I can't possibly scrap the Green Tiger. Sure, no turbo, but it is an increasingly rare estate!
