Des, I can probably come up with a pair of lights easily enough, although personally i wouldn't bother - never been flashed in UK or had a problem with not seeing where I'm going using LHD lights there, so no reason you should have a problem over here!

Aircon bits. Good news is all the stuff under the scuttle seems to be there. Bad news is he wants 160 euros for it....

Manual window mechs. Again, present and correct front and rear in the other car, but he wants 45 euros EACH for them.

Coil wiring. It is indeed the normal type round coil on the bulkhead, but the dizzy is missing and someone's just cut through the wires unfortunately....

My problem is that like a good boy, I tape off the headlights when I'm in France. The result is a rather dismal scatter of light that makes driving at night a bit of a lottery. I spend a lot of time driving up and down single-track country roads with lots of bends and deep ditches and ideally I'd like to see more. I'm not sure I would be very popular with oncoming drivers if I removed the tape, although I imagine the lighting would be a lot better. I'll mull it over and PM you closer to the time.

Blimey. Sadly I think I'm willing to live with the extra weight if the alternative is €90 and extra hassle for you. Thank you for asking though! My search continues...

Wouldn't surprise me if some didn't turn up for near enough bugger all at some point - most French BXs are much lower spec than equivalent UK ones so lots have manual windows. Even the Aircon TRS has manual windows in the back....

I'm off to France soon so if I find/am allowed round a scrapyard I'll keep an eye out. I'd suggest 20-30 Euros for all the manual window gubbins. IIRC the door cards are the same, just with trim covering the hole where a winder would be.

And presumably trim covering where the switch(es) would go?
I'm sure it varies from place to place but round here it's pretty rare to find a scrappy who'll let you wander round and remove bits at your leisure. Mostly they seem to want to remove it themselves and charge half the cost of a new part. That's not even a new thing - way back in the 70s and 80s all the scrappies subscribed to an annual set of books which gave them up to date part numbers and prices for the main bits of most popular cars and and vans (I've got quite a few of them myself now and they're handy for cross-referencing stuff).
That's why I was a bit surprised to find this scrappie would let me take the bits off myself. Always better that way as you can recover all the little fixings and clips that otherwise get dropped in the dirt, as well as any bonus bits that come along and fall into your toolbox - in today's case a set of brake pads and fittings that haven't done more than a few hundred km, a full set of headlight adjusters in perfect nick, as set of plug leads (which will fit the H van) and a throttle cable which won't fit my TDs but which will yield the little plastic bit which attaches to the throttle pedal.

Likewise: many thanks for asking about the a/c bits. at half the price I may have been interested, but I'll leave it for now!

It was no problem. Must admit I was a bit surprised, given how cheap the struts were!
