Front Spheres

i've had sucess with chain wrenches on all but 1 off the many spheres i've removed.

That 1 sphere cost me about 4 chain wrenches until Pleiades delivered my 35quid tool.

I'll never go back now!!

That looks like a pretty neat solution Brian. It must be really satisfying when you can make your own tools. Perhaps there should be a Citroen sphere custom tool competition !

Don't know if there is enough room on the rear spheres but for the fronts I use a large set of water pump plier -absolute doddle.

Pliades have hikedup the price of their tool, but I suppose I did buy it many years ago.

Still worth buying though, as it is much less than 1 hour labor at a franchised garage, and a good tool to share with local Cit fans.

Here is another contender as a sphere removal tool from Draper Tools. This might work well with the heavy duty wheel brace from Halfords (£5/£6) which has a 30" telescopic handle and comes with two 17/19 mm and 21/23mm reversible sockets driven by a 1/2" drive.

I used an old cambelt and a mole grips. Worked really well - on the first sphere. I took the other 4 off with a hammer and chisel....

It looks as if the capacitiy of the last one (OFW 100) at 100mm is just too small. Pity...

Probably too late now, but I bought the Pleiades tool- pricey maybe but it's the best for the job, and I've tried and broken a few over the years, inc the draper strap wrench.Even the rears (spheres) on 2 bxs and a xantia were easy peasy! (and no, I'm not connected to Pleiades)
