I dont know mulley really, boot welding is a simple Job which Im sure someone on here could help with, It will need new discs and pads after standing so long, of course a cambelt tensioner and service to be safe, and then its down to fixing the leaking rear suspension.

Brakes are £60 ish parts, cambelt is £40-£50, service parts are cheap enough as are the hydraulic pipes, but its the labour that would make it expensive.

If you can have it roadwrothy moted and sprused up for £700 ish then I think its worth every penny due to its rarity. Even if you just buy it and doa bit at a time to sve it being broken up then thats a start!

I could get it on my truck and take it somewhere within reasonable distance if that would help anyone?

Thats waaaaaay too much money! The hydraulic piping is gonna be completely rotten through if its already had a failure. The cambelt etc will all need doing too, and I don't know why the back end is stuck up in the air? Definately worth more to a Pugger, to put that back on the road would cost double the asking price at least.

I'm not doubting that I'd want to though, a black ph1 is an awesome and rare car. If it was cheaper maybe....I expect he'd take less if you turned up with a truck and cash.

You cannot save them all and that one is a likely money pit. A good car sold on here for £500 a little while back. Let the puggers have their fun and bag the wheels and the aircon instead.

Looks like a beauty under all that moss, im sure. Low miles and good interior. Like Tim says, a good de-moss and Valet, it would probably come up lovely. A patch of welding in the boot and some replacement pipes to the back, sorted. Id buy it if I didnt have too many already.

I'd say its definately worth it, but as I said before....its too much money.

Unless you will only settle for a black ph1 (and if thats the case get this....they don't come around often), there are plenty of other valvers to choose from which will give you as much pleasure.

Gonna stick me neck out here and offer to store it  It would be out doors but safe behind locked gates up the side of my house.

If Billy can help with the transport, that would be superb?

I don't mind putting cash in, any one else? What do you think the chances are of the seller allowing 'us' to purchase at a lower price? If so what figure should be offered and how would we go about it?

I've also spoken to him via ebay, he has a bid although he doesn't know if its a pugger or not, but I've also asked if he could let the buyer know of this place (and the 16valve club) in order to sell on the rest of the car IF it gets bought for the engine alone, that way at least the majority of the car is kept together just in case someone happens across an Mi16 engined 205 and removes the engine and puts it back in its righfull home?

the seller has responded to a mail I sent him before the sale, his answer is thus:

"The BX 16 valve has now passed to its new owner. Unfortunately it is his intention to remove the engine and box and to scrap the rest of the vehicle. There are lots of good parts on the car and I'm sure that they can be had for very little money, but anyone who is interested will need to act quickly. The new owner will remove the parts he wants this weekend and will then be very eager to dispose of the rest. Don't miss it!

This chap is in the Hull area.

Good luck!

Regards,

Julian.

PS. I also broke a series one 16v for spares, and have a number of items that I'm prepared to sell if there's still a demand...and I can locate the part! I'm in the Burnley area."

So if you need any parts, and want the contact numbers drop me a pm and I'll pass them across. Best to act quite sharpish.
