Yup, but don't ask me how as I can't remember.

Oh....that's right...i do remember....you take the steering shroud off (including the little top cover) and under that are two screws on either side of the column. Once they are off you need to lift the top cover off the instrument cluster. Be careful as they break but are simply clipped in.

Lift it gently from the back (closest to the windscreen) where there are little vent grooves. It should unclip and more screws will be revealed (or something like that).

From memory you don't have to take the cluster out (but really can't remember), simply lift the top cover and see.

Thanks Michael, theres a coupld fo bulbs out so will take it out and change them at the same time. The haynes manual believe it or not does tell you how to take the Mk1 speedo out! :shock:

Ive changed the LHM and coolant today, both of which to be fair were ok but its worth doing anyway, ive sorted the squealing HP belt and replaced most of the missing bolts on the engine bay so all is well!

I will take the dash to bits on weds and try and get a new speedo cable

Ken did you find that one in your shed?
