I spoke to Patrick about this car on Sunday. Apparently the lady who bought the car new was a liberal democrat MP (or councillor or something) and a very good customer at that particular garage. She had been after a black GTi but there were none left as the BX was about to be phased out. All that was available was the Hurricane GTi so the garage had it shipped back to the factory so that the repaint would still be covered by the warranty - Citroen have repainted the orga number over the new paint but it's still green behind the rear lights! A very rare and interesting car; still prefer Triton green though!

I've just spotted K995 BMJ F/S on E-bay, the price of this just seems to be going one-way !

Here the LINK to the thread when it got Sold for £900 (Prior to being for £1600) !

For much better photo's (Than the current listing) see the previous E-BAY F/S advert

Good luck to who may buy this time round !

2 grand is collector money and that means mint and original. It is a really lovely car but it's neither of those things. I'd have stuck it on at 1500 and considered offers of 1200 up - even then I'd have to cross my fingers.

I see that the Classified Listing has ended today for this, also IIRC the price had dropped a few days ago to £1895 !

If Classified Ads. are on a 30 day listing, perhaps the Ads. been pulled after a deal has been struck ?

Has anyone off the forum bought this by any chance ?

Having just missed Patrick Rugg's immaculate TZD at Anglia Car Auction yesterday :? , I wish I'd seen this when it was on fleaBay – although I really don't think it is/was worth that sort of money. Wonder if it actually sold though? I've emailed the vendor and will report back if I get a response.

Meanwhile if anyone know of a really good hatchback without any major issues, preferably a turbo diesel, I'm in the market. :o

My old silver TXD Turbo is for sale, but it's not really good. The lacquer is dreadful. I had quite a few jobs done during my ownership though - it's a decent old horse. Don't think the current owner is on here, but more details here. £400, which leaves a fair bit of cash for cosmetics.

Thanks for the heads-up. Checked the blissfully named 'autosh*te' website and whilst cosmetics don't worry me much, the knocking suspension is a bit off-putting, as is the LHM leak. No clue as to the mileage, though :x

Cheers – Mark

It had 107,000 on it when I had it I think. Knock is probably just an ARB link, and most BXs have a minor LHM leak! That was on the pressure regulator if I remember correctly. My current BX seems to leak in exactly the same place.

I had the rear arm bearings replaced during my ownership, and at least one front balljoint. May have been two. I was stupid to sell it really - replaced it with a BX estate which was nowhere near as nice.

A BX without an LHM leak is a temporary luxury :-)

Have you not considered the RED TZD-TURBO (J344 GFG) in THIS E-bay listing as in THIS-SPOTTED thread ?

Which comes with TWO TZD Turbo estates for spares IF needed ?

P.S. :- How much DID the £401 EX RUGG'S TZD Turbo realise in the Auction ?

Too much work required for my taste and skill-level: I'm not a mechanic, just an afficianado! :x

The BX at ACA seems to be the subject of much acrimony on the forum which I don't really want to get into, but it was in excellent condition. I had to bid by telephone – but Kings Lynn is a long way for mid-Wales! – and dropped out of the bidding – which rose at a frantic pace – at £900 and rather annoyingly it then went for 950. Kicking myself, I am, :x

Still looking, though.

Ah, you're mid-Wales as well? Thought I was on my own here for BX fancying!

Nah, there are a few more eccentrics hereabouts. Indeed the guy who runs a local garage has a tidy green 19 estate. Me though, I'm still looking! :?
